Dr Ee-May Chia

Dr Ee-May Chia is a cardiologist with subspecialist expertise in advanced cardiac imaging. She provides comprehensive diagnostic assessment using echocardiography at rest and with stress, transoesophageal echocardiography, cardiac MRI, and cardiac CT — allowing precise, evidence-based treatment planning tailored to each patient.

Dr Chia trained at Westmead Hospital in Sydney before completing advanced imaging fellowships under leading Australian specialists, followed by further fellowship training in cardiac MRI in the United Kingdom. She holds a Masters in Public Health and a PhD in cardiology, with research focused on right ventricular function and pulmonary hypertension. Her work has been published and presented internationally.

Her clinical approach is thoughtful and holistic. She believes that accurate diagnosis is the foundation of excellent cardiology care, and is known for her calm, compassionate manner and clear communication.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Chia is actively involved in teaching and mentoring at St George Hospital, contributing to the development of the next generation of cardiologists.

Dr Calvin Hsieh

Dr Calvin Hsieh is a specialist in cardiac electrophysiology with expertise across the full spectrum of arrhythmia treatment — from complex ablation to advanced pacing and device therapy. He is one of the few electrophysiologists in the region proficient in all contemporary procedural techniques, allowing truly individualised treatment planning.

He is at the forefront of pulse field ablation (PFA) and complex ablation strategies, as well as innovative device therapies including leadless pacemakers, conduction system pacing, defibrillators (including subcutaneous systems), and left atrial appendage closure.

Dr Hsieh trained at Westmead Hospital in Sydney before completing advanced electrophysiology fellowship training at the Freeman Hospital in the United Kingdom, a quaternary referral centre for complex arrhythmias. His research into ventricular arrhythmias following heart attack was awarded the Ralph Reader Prize, the highest research award in cardiology in Australia and New Zealand.

In addition to clinical practice, he is an educator and international proctor for specialised procedures, and serves as Medical Director of CathRx, an Australian electrophysiology research and development company focused on innovation and sustainability.
